Another land-based sportsbook has launched in Pennsylvania.

On Thursday, Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie, Pennsylvania opened its BetAmerica sportsbook.

New York listed company Churchill Downs Incorporated purchased the Presque Isle venue from Eldorado Resorts in January.

The opening of this sportsbook coincides with the start of the NFL’s pre-season and brings the total number of land-based venues in the Keystone state to nine.

What does the BetAmerica sportsbook look like?

The BetAmerica branded sportsbook is located within the newly renovated sportsbook area in the casino and features 50 sports wagering kiosks. There are also kiosks located in the casino’s centre bar, non-smoking area and high-limit room.

Bill Carstanjen, Churchill Down’s chief executive, said: “The legalization of sports wagering across the country presents a great opportunity for Churchill Downs to deliver more entertainment options to our customers. We are excited to bring our industry-leading BetAmerica Sportsbook to the Pennsylvania market.”

Kevin O’Sullivan, Presque Isle’s vice president and general manager said: “We’re confident that the addition of the BetAmerica Sportsbook will help us draw an even larger crowd of sports fans and racing enthusiasts from across Pennsylvania and from surrounding states.”
